WHAT IS RETROFIT CONCEPT ?

Image
Throughout the world, there are many old, low-voltage circuit breakers protecting essential industrial processes that have been  operational for a significant period ‘beyond’  their functional design life. Obtaining spares for obsolete circuit breakers of this age can prove  to be impossible and replacing the entire switchboard can have a serious impact on production downtime and budget constraints.             Retrofitting refers to the addition of new technology to older systems. Retrofit ACBs can replace ageing, unsafe switches, and circuit breakers . Terasaki’s Retrofit Services                               Ageing switchgear often needs to be upgraded to meet modern operational and safety requirements. Retrofitting of...

How to choose: ACB or MCCB?

Image
This guide introduces the factors which affect circuit breaker selection: Load Fault level Discrimination Its purpose is to prompt further investigation rather than to provide a calculational procedure. Terasaki offers detailed training and further information on circuit breaker selection. The construction and operation of air circuit breakers (ACBs) and moulded case circuit breakers (MCCBs) have common features. A contact system with arc-quenching, a mechanism to operate the breaker, a system to provide a means of protection, control, and indication. However, there are some fundamental differences in the application that should be considered. Load The current carrying capacity (In, A) of the breaker should be higher than the expected load in the circuit. MCCBs are available up to 4000A from Terasaki but become less cost-effective for very large ratings (2000A and above). The advantage of MCCBs for very large ratings is their compact size. An ACB is physically larger but more cost-effe...

Prevent fire hazard with Tele E1ZM10 12-240VAC/DC

Image
TELE's ENYA Series  E1ZM10 12-240VAC/DC  multi-function relay has 7-time functions with 7 different time ranges ranging from 0.05 seconds to 100 hours. The E1ZM10 12-240VAC/DC timing relay is designed for simple DIN-rail mounting and can be easily wired using the screw terminals.  Task: To prevent fire risk, the stove in a residential home's shared kitchen must be turned off after a set amount of time. In the event that the impact button is unlawfully blocked, the electrical circuit must still operate. Solution: A centralized impact button with a downstream time relais E1ZM10 12-240V and the feature "Single-shot leading edge with control input" solves the problem. When the button is pressed, the current flows and a given time window begins to run. Now is the time to use the stove before the time window has expired. The current is turned off and the stove is turned off audibly when the timer expires automatically. Only after the current cycle has finished can the next ...

VEGA - Streel Light Management

Image
The photocells control lighting installation switch-on and switch-off in the function of the light level. The twilight switches are employed to automate the switch-on and switch-off time control for the lighting circuits according to the solar time for the zone in which they are installed. Economical savings in installation, maintenance, and consumption. The key advantage of using a twilight switch is the significant energy savings it provides, as well as the ease of eliminating unnecessary time scheduling and efficiently regulating sunlight. The  VEGA twilight switch  permits the controlling of premises depending on the prevailing light. The device compares the surrounding light with the adjusted level; if it is less than this level, it is activated after a delay time. When the light increases and reaches the switch-off level, it turns off after the delay time. On and Off switching control according to the luminosity level, is used in lighting installations such as sho...

TemBreak 2 - Exceeding Standards

Image
TemBreak 2 MCCB   is the Ultimate Safety Breaker. It has specifications that exceed international safety standards. Direct opening action - recommended by IEC standards for machinery safety - is a feature of most models. A unique safety lock system for plug-in MCCBs ensures that the MCCB cannot carry current while being fitted or removed.  SAFETY PLUS TemBreak 2 MCCBs exceed the requirements of recognized standards. International Compliance The TemBreak 2 MCCB complies with the international standard  IEC 60947-2 TemBreak 2 Switch Disconnectors comply with   IEC 60947-3 Accessories comply with  IEC 60947-5-1 or IEC 61058-1 The entire range conforms to the IEC general rules for switchgear,  IEC 60947-1 TemBreak 2 MCCBs comply with  JIS C 8201-2-1  Ann.1 The TemBreak 2 range complies with the EC Low Voltage Directive and all models are CE marked TemBreak 2 MCCBs carry the IEC symbol indicating Direct Opening Action as defined by  IEC 60...
